Change your attitude, change your life.
There are numerous self-help books out there due to which you often get confused about where to start from. What could be the righteous step towards personal growth?
One of the most general, crucial moreover required concepts of growing as a person is this “attitude is everything”.
You must be here to decide whether this book could be your next read or why should this book should be your next read.
In this book review, I’m going to cover 4 aspects of analyzing the book for you:
Step 1: Summarize
Step 2: Evaluation
Step 3: Recommendation
Step 4: My short review
Step 1: SUMMARY
Definition of “attitude”:
Your attitude is the mental filter through which you see and experience the world. Some people see the world with optimism while some see the world with pessimism.
Like;
A person with a negative attitude thinks, “I can’t!”,
A person with a positive attitude thinks, ” I can’t!”;
The person with a negative attitude dwells on problems,
The person with a positive attitude focuses on solutions.
Why we should have a positive attitude?
We all start our life with a positive attitude.
Get inspired by the attitude of the child, when he falls while trying to walk he doesn’t stumble upon and gives up walking, he tries again with a smile on his face.
As we grow our mental window gets dirty. This is because:
Reasons for lack of positive attitude:
– Criticism from parents and teachers, rejection, disappointment, doubt.
– Most people don’t do anything about it.
– People overlook new possibilities.
– They give up on their dreams.
HIGHLIGHTS EXCERPTS
– You can always control your attitude.
– You always have a choice.
– You are a human magnet.
– Positive words bring positive results.
– Commit and you would move mountains.
– Be willing to do whatever it takes to reach your goals.
– Every adversity holds an opportunity.
– Words are powerful enough to make your future bright or ugly.
– You become like the people whom you hang with.
– Successful people learn to find their way to success.
Step 2: EVALUATION
I must say, Jeff Keller has a very open insight into his beliefs. His thoughts are not fixated on one side of a concept. Rather he justified every concept by presenting the otherwise part of concepts.
The author’s writing is conceptual, justified, practical, and realistic.
REALISTIC APPROACH TO THE CONCEPTS
– Attitude alone won’t less you to success. Because there is more to success than a positive attitude. However, without a positive attitude, you can’t take positive actions.
– Positive thinking would not bring you overnight success. Positive attitude thinking doesn’t mean you won’t have any more problems. You would have setbacks and problems. But, if you believe in yourself you would overcome them.
– Without a problem, you could never find a solution. Adversity makes you take action and you come out stronger.
– Our mind can’t differential between a positive and negative message. It relies upon what we tell it over and over again.
To achieve your goals and revive your full potential you must be willing to be uncomfortable.
In the book, Jeff is not only talking out the concepts, inspirations, illustrating the discussions. He has even mentioned the ways to adopt a positive attitude, which is sure short the best part I find in self-help books.
Until a book reveals how to achieve the theory, it’s doesn’t justify our time, an effort we invest in it.
Fortunately, you would find many methods to work out a positive attitude in different situations with various means. Like-
Methods to have a specific attitude
– Create a vision of your better attitude.
– Key to success in just 6 words:
“We become, what we think about.”
– The process of words goes like:
Thoughts – words – belief – action – results.
– Next time someone asks you;’ how are you ?’- respond to them with enthusiasm and positivity no matter how you would be feeling at the time.
– Anytime you feel complaining, make a gratitude list.
Step 3: RECOMMENDATION
It’s a big thumbs up from my side. Because:
The book is straightforward, on the point, inspiring, worth investing yourself as a person.
You would come out logical, wiser with words, people, optimism, and willingness.
If you have ever found the word”attitude” hyped for being literally nothing. This book is going to change your approach towards “attitude” drastically.
Crux: You would learn:
– What does “attitude” actually mean?
– The various aspect of attitude.
– The modes to deal with attitude to mold it for your benefit.
I would recommend the book to; literally everyone because we all possess the attitude and must learn the best possible manner to deal with it.
Step 4: MY SHORT REVIEW
