” The day you find yourself suffering the most recognize you have begun to demean all of your blessings.”
-Farheen Dhanjal
How to be more compassionate?
Compassion can be thought of as a mental state or an orientation towards suffering (your own or others’) that includes four components:
– Bringing attention or awareness to recognizing that there is suffering (cognitive)
– Feeling emotionally moved by that suffering (affective)
– Wishing there to be relief from that suffering (intentional)
– A readiness to take action to relieve that suffering (motivational) https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/six_habits_of_highly_compassionate_people
Compassion is considered sympathetic and concern or the misfortune of others. Simply, put yourself in another person’s shoes and feel the real sense of the situation happening to them.
Some other words which could remind you of falling for a much kinder version of yours could be empathy, understanding, care, concern, warm-heartedness, tenderness, mercy.
Compassion may vary from person to person. For me, being compassionate begins with being conscious enough to be kind, gentle, protective about others’ life status.
Sometimes it could be so frustrating on strangers on street. And, we give compassion very easily to people whom we know all because we might know what hardships of life they are going through.
It’s very important to be compassionate to literally everyone out there. Because we tend to forget that everyone has something which they are probably dealing with.
In order to experience a satisfied and fulfilling living, you have to practice compassion with others along with yourself. Because this could only make you more compassionate.
